Mission Statement | This Year's Love

A year to remember ! The most important thing I want to say is ‘Thank-you’. I am forever pinching myself that after fifteen years I still get to take photographs for a living. It just fills me with eternal gratitude that I’m trusted with documenting the moments. Another highlight for me was meeting and mentoring new photographers in the quiet months and helping them grow their own businesses. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they continue on in 2016. It’s always good to catch up with old clients again, and to meet the new family members with the ‘Just Us’ sessions. Thank-you also to all those talented wedding suppliers and suppliers I’ve collaborated with this year. I hope to see you again soon!

For 2016 I’m going to really try to blog more and write more. I have several exciting news from the studio of extended family member (Photographer) and maestro. And International publication here such as BRIDE Australia, Modern Wedding, Grace Ormonde, Style Me Pretty.

Although this is a long blogpost, reminiscing our highlight and style. Overtime I photograph and edit a shoot, we keep running list of the good, the bad, the areas of improvement and whatever else want to remember for later. This blog is a compilation of all notes from over the years, full of raw emotion, intimacy, our perspective and a space for my clients / partners to understand our creative process. As the years go on, I think what I love most about being a photographer, is that I’m creating  photos that will be cherished privately through the years long after they’ve been forgotten online. Photos that mean more personally to the people in them than could ever be felt or communicated in a blogpost. When a client from a few years back lets me know a family member has passed on and those photos help them remember, there is nothing more important than that for me. Or when I get a snapshot on my phone of a favourite image printed and hanging pride of place in their living room, I still get so excited everytime.

So although it’s now 2016 and I’m looking forward to taking new pictures, I will promise to update this blog on my regular basis… xx
